services . what I do

I help individuals develop the knowledge and skills needed to build prosperous organizations in changing environments. That is what I do. As an advisor, lecturer, or writer. I write books, reports, articles, and blogs.

Regardless of the capacity I am in, I am grounded in what we know with fairly good support (science) and what actually works in practice (proven experience). I bring new perspectives, deep insight, and powerful advice on the most critical issues of organizational long-term success.

Conditions under which organizations operate change – fast and relentlessly. New markets emerge, borders between traditionally defined businesses, geographies, and industries fade, technologies develop, born digitals challenge the status quo, and new regulations are set. The business environment is impossible to predict. Organizations therefore must find to strategize with change at its core. To do so, they need to develop themselves, and their ways of working, thinking, and behaving. They need to learn.

advisor in strategy and change

As an advisor, I support management teams, boards of directors, project teams of major transformations, strategy teams, management consulting firms, CEOs, Business Development Managers, CFOs, HR directors, Change Managers, Strategists, CIOs, etc. I provide practical, straightforward forward, and evidence-based insight to help individuals realize their organization’s purpose, achieve a certain goal, or succeed to manage a demanding change. Common commitments include strategy analyses and providing a second opinion, facilitating management clinics to tackle a particular challenge, and coaching key individuals in strategic thinking, strategy realization, or management of major changes.

“We approached Pontus at a critical time in our strategic journey. With his thoughtful and constructive approach, Pontus helped our organization to clarify our strategy and to define our organizational focus. To frame this, he supported us in defining and setting our steering model and agree on metrics across our entire organization and departments. In an inclusive, question-driven and workshop-oriented approach, he helped us engage the organization to create a viable and executable strategy. Pontus also trained our business controller to perform the workshops which facilitated valuable knowledge transfer from him to us and in extension made us less dependent on external consultants in the future. Pontus delivers high quality, professional management and strategy services, and provided us with an affordable solution. I can highly recommend Pontus as an advisor in strategy and management.”

lecturer in strategy and change

As a lecturer, I train and educate individuals to tackle the most pressing issues of today’s organizations. I do shorter keynotes and lectures at conferences, and in organizations. I hold series of seminars and training sessions that last days, weeks, and months. I train C-suite members, middle and first-line managers, strategists, change managers, board professionals, project managers, business controllers, and high potentials. I educate undergraduates, MBAs-students, and Ph.D. candidates at leading universities and business schools. And I manage entire strategy and management development programs.

Regardless of where I teach, I am convinced that learning is stronger if learners draw their own conclusions. So, I don’t ‘feed’. I ask. I listen. I challenge. I discuss. I believe the application of knowledge is a strong measure of better learning. So, together with learners, we explore, we apply knowledge to actual challenges, and we reflect.

author in strategy and change

As an author, my aim is to provide insight through management books and theory textbooks, scientific articles, and reports or white papers on management issues by order of organizations. More about written stuff can be found under ‘writings’

I try, to the best of my ability, to draw on my extensive practical experience from different types of organizations and from the deep theoretical knowledge from the forefront of research. By combining the practitioner’s and the academic’s perspectives, I hope to provide texts that are substantiated and practically applicable.
